About Us

Background

are and Hope for All is a Zambian Church based organization focused on improving the quality of life through a wide variety of community development initiatives and programs such as Rural Economic Empowerment, Community Heath, Social Community Engagement, Education and Leadership. CHA was birthed through the twelve (12) Samfya local Churches under the chairmanship of the late Mr. Rodgers Chama who at the time was Principal at Samfya Bible School. It was first called Samfya Community of Care Providers (SCCP) in the year 2001 as a Home-Based Care (HBC). This was an intervention to the observed need in Samfya for orphans and most vulnerable children whose parents died or were severely conditioned by HIV/AIDS. A team of HBC volunteers as care givers from twelve local Churches was mobilized and trained. With the introduction of two programs namely Health and Education, over 900 vulnerable children were identified through the local church volunteers and were supported with various educational support including school fees up-to tertiary with the support from Bright Hope World and Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, USA. HIV/AIDS clients were equally supported in various ways including nutritional and medical help among other life saving measures.

In 2005 it was officially registered under the registrar of societies in Zambia and later transitioned the name to Care and Hope for All (CHA) with the view of extending the organizational vision to all parts of Zambia. More programs were introduced as the Samfya communities experienced various pertinent issues which they felt needed CHA’s intervention.
