Education
Education is the basis for development. We realize that one of the most important benefits of education is how it improves personal lives and helps societies run smoothly. Education gives us a knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. Therefore this core program aims at setting a fair and levelled ground for special education for children with disability, slow learners in primary education and children from vulnerable who have passed their grade 12 secondary level with required results for enrolment in universities and colleges.
Key Activities Completed
scholarship program
• Improved academic performance and reduced school dropout rates • School absenteeism reduction implemented food supplement programs for school going orphans and vulnerable children resulting in an 92%reduction in school absenteeism • Supported 1100+ orphans and vulnerable children with scholarships from grade 1 to 12
Infrastucture Deleopment
• Constructed a 1*3 classroom block on Chishi Island , installing solar power and computer lab , upgrading the school to a full secondary school and reducing lake accidents • Constructed a classroom at Mukopa Primary school on Mbabala Island reducing congestion and improving learning conditions • Renovated 2 basic schools infrastructure in Samfya and Mansa Districts
Technology and Learning Resources
• Donated desktop computers to 2 primary schools in Samfya • Provided library books to the district commissioners office • Provided desks and chairs to a primary school in Lunga district improving learning conditions in a hard –to – reach area
